Solid whole bean coffee option
Having been buying single origin coffee from Vietnam the last couple years, we've had a decent amount of experience from another brand in this space so we were excited to try this option when the opportunity presented itself.

Out of the gate, the bag is well-made and looks up to the task of keeping these beans fresh. To be sure, even after loading them into the burr grinder, the aroma is still strong with that deep, roasted flavor. Not being much of a hot coffee drinker myself and my wife not being terribly discerning with hers in the morning, we can't say there's any complaints from pouring a hot cup.

However, I am a bit of a fan of cold brew (mostly because I like to be able to drink my coffee right away without scorching my mouth). Now, I will say I've not historically been much of a coffee drinker mostly because I'm not big on bitterness (having kids will change you). For the sake of you readers out there though, I did partake in doing a small sampling of said cold brew with no additives. Much to my surprise, the bitterness factor was almost non-existent and was rather pleasant overall, maybe even sippable, as is. After filling my cup and adding some agave and milk, I found I had quite a nice iced latte in my hands. The flavor profile comes through with a lot of that toasted/roasted flavor along with some nuttiness but all very subtle and enjoyable flavors with no noticeable bitterness.

Overall, this is a pretty solid buy with (current) pricing about on par per ounce with our incumbent with the only difference being theirs is marketed as organic (not specifically USDA that I can see) while this brand I don't see any mention of that. Totally fine though. Would we give this coffee another go (or one of its siblings)? Yes, I think we definitely would.

I absolutely love dark roast coffee when it lacks bitterness because it is richer and more aromatic overall, but it is hard to find great dark roasts. This medium dark roast is one of the unicorns that checks all of the boxes for me! It is strong and flavor-packed, with an aroma that fills the house in the morning when I am most looking forward to my java. The beans are impressively fresh and smell heavenly when you open the bag. The acidity is minimal as well.

I have prepared these beans with different brew methods and get great results no matter how I make it. Usually I use a French press, but I have experimented with this coffee in my espresso machine as well. I don't make lattes very often but this coffee would be wonderful for mixed coffee drinks.

This Blu Ore Quartz Blend is a nice medium-dark roast with delicious, rich flavor. The beans smell fresh and grind easily.
It has a chocolatey flavor that works perfectly in lattes and cappuccinos. Great for milk drinks. Fair price too.
I’d absolutely buy it again.
